House/wilson art
Jul. 7th, 2007 11:30 pmMeh.
For the amount of work that this took, I'm not terribly happy with it. Too big, too dark...too many distractions. I don't usually take so long to draw stuff, but RL kept getting in the way, and my teeeeeeny tiiiiiny attention span was lost part way through. But I HATE leaving things half done, so I slogged through and finished.
I'm not entirely UNHAPPY with it. Especially the chest hair. *purrs*

Date: 2007-07-08 12:42 pm (UTC)Things that are impressin' the hell out of Licia while she eats her cereal: Wilson's lips and eyelids and cheek and the shading therein, the chest hair (purr indeed), their hair (holy snikeys!), Wilson's neck, House's chin, etc., etc.
Nicely done. :)

Date: 2007-07-08 04:54 pm (UTC)You know, I'm not sure exactly what I don't like about this pic. Jimmy looks consitpated....I dunno, I guess it was just not a big enough pay-off for the time that it took, KWIM? When I spend a lot of time on something, I want to stand back and bask in my brilliance. This one's just a 25 watt bulb. ;^)

Date: 2007-07-08 04:56 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, stubble is just tedious to do. A million teeny, tiny scribbles. The good news is, you can watch TV while you draw it. The bad news is, it takes forever, no matter how you do it. Unless you do that cartoon cross-hatching, which looks great on cartoons, not so good on graphite drawings! ;D

Thirty will probably be enough, but we should have 35 just in case. I'd prefer to have two smaller pictures on one side so the piccies will be side-by-side. Plus that way all the non-squick fans can turn it so that the blank side faces out. Wimps!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and
*Sigh* With no e-mail that means you can't see the headless project that is giving me fits. Must be a sign for me not to do it.

Date: 2007-07-13 12:07 am (UTC)Oh, and are we going to get together thurs or friday before the thing so I can put everything together? And give you money? Any idea how much? Did you need me to try to get it to you early? Where are you staying? If you need to have a break during the con you can always head up to our room. Since Al is with me I doubt it'll end up being a fannish hangout so it should be relatively sane and quiet most of the time.

Date: 2007-07-13 04:05 am (UTC)As for the Imax Movie...I think we'll pass. It would be fun, but our time is going to be really limited, and I'd rather DO something with people than passively watch a movie. Not that I don't love movies, but we have my mom to visit, and my dad, and my brother, plus the zoo, niagra falls, Marine land, the convention, bla bla bla. You get the picture.
Lance says he's willing to go out with you guys one night. Well, when I say willing, I mean that he didn't stomp his feet and shout NO! ;^) We just have to figure out when the hell we are going to do what. KWIM?
As for your hotel room, I may take you up on that offer. We'll be staying with my mom and her husband, but they live in Mississauga. A bit of a trek from downtown. Do you know what symposiums you're going to attend? I really have to look them over and decide.
As for the bags, that shouldn't be a problem. I'm also looking into keychains for myself! (with different art, don't worry. Got Snarry will be all yours, hon!) I agree on the one sided printing, they look really good right beside each other. would you like a t-shirt for yourself? i actually found transfers that are for black shirts! I haven't tried them out yet, but I'm pumped! They're a lot more expensive than the white shirt ones, but who the hell wears white shirts?
As for the cash, no rush. The transfers are just over a buck each, and I forget off hand, but the bags are only a buck or so each, so that's not exactly an entire retirement fund.
when will you be arriving? I have to be there in the morning of the... 2nd? To bring my art to the gallery, and will probably spend some time helping Glockgal with that. I'd love to see you then! I've also volunteered my time to sit at the drawble table for an hour or so, but I didn't commit to an actual time.

Date: 2007-07-13 04:58 am (UTC)We are about as organized as a soup sandwich as far as the trip is concerned. I looked through the programming, but have no idea about selecting something. Most cons I've been to in the past had you actually register so you knew exactly where you were headed. I plan to have fun on this trip, so if I miss a few things, meh. It'll be fun to meet people who I only know as userpics but I've already decided that I'm not going to make myself crazy over missing a few things. The Snarry meet-up will probably give me a chance to see just about everyone so I'm excited about that.
The morning of the 2nd is great. Unless one of the deer eats me, I'll be hanging around the lobby with nothing to do since check-in is probably after 2 or 3. I'll be the creepy old lady with saggy arm skin and no boobs in a Snape t-shirt. Don't forget to pack your duct tape.
Oh, I'd *love* a black t-shirt. If it's no problem, I'll just get some Canadian cash when I'm at the Falls and give it to you when I see you. I stupidly thought I could use my American $ the last time I was in Toronto ('cause I use it at the Falls) and people thought I was nuts. You know us Americans. We figure everyone operates the way we do. Now I mostly use my credit card since they can handle the exchanges.
Oooh, keychains. I think their is going to be some serious loot at the meet-up. I'm still trying to figure out what else to put in the bags. How big are they, btw?
Let me know when you have e-mail again. Perhaps the dolls aren't a lost cause...yet. Hm. Perhaps they don't need faces. It's not like people look at those anyway....

Date: 2007-07-20 06:09 am (UTC)You're right though, it does seem like a very private moment. (hence my being all over it!) :D
