There's a great comm on Insane Journal called Slothdraw: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/slothsdraw/

It's full of fun little excersizes to do. Perfect for sitting around at the Mcdonald's playland when it's raining outside and the kids need to burn off some steam.

The goal this week was to convey emotion using just body language. The emotions in question were:
pompous
uneasy
impatient
aggressive
tired
humble
stubborn

See if you can guess which one is which.

and a couple more here:

With these ones, I was seeing how close, yet how different a very similar pose could mean.

Another goal was to make a nine panel 'comic' about a background. I SUCK AT COMICS! sorry it's so fuzzy! The possible prompts were:
abandoned
serene
forbidding
welcoming
official
exotic
innocent

If you can't guess which one I picked, then I should stop making art, and you should stop looking at it! ;^) Oh, and I could only come up with 8 panels. I had used up every cliche I could think of.

My kids were particularly intruigued with this one. Probably because there was no nekkid buttsects in it. I like to confuse them on a regular basis. They kept asking about the mail. What kinds of letters were they? Why was no one picking them up? Why did they not tell the mailman when they moved? Why is that doll laying there like that? Who broke the windows? I DON'T KNOW! IT'S A STOOPID FEKKING DRAWING!

The last two pics are of my fat little hooves hands, and then some facial expressions to match some of the postures. note: I am not terribly fat, nor am I skinny, but I have short, fat hands. Not the best 'models'. :D

Hey, good job on the pose guessing! Pensive, is indeed, impatient. I tried miming the pose myself, but it lost some of the 'tension' when I drew it. He looks like he's thinking, instead of fuming. :D

The last three poses are humble, uneasy and stubborn. (although he just looks cold!) All three poses are similar, I was trying to just make subtle differences to make them emotions.

Thanks for writing the prompts, and those scans you uploaded! I'm going to buy that book in the next few days!
