Thank you! That nose gave me some trouble. grrrr He looked like Bob Hope for a while, with this funny little ski thing at the end, and I had already done the dark shadows when I noticed it. :D Thank god that even dark pencils erase!
Oh, someone had to show me that. I fail at all things computery! :D It took a while for me to find the contrast/brightness button. An artist's best friend!
I dunno, the shape of his face screams anime to me for some reason. He's not exactly a cartoon here, though. Probably because the reference was a woman, and anime tends to have feminine shaped faces.
Thank you! If you're not into Snarry, you just haven't been reading the right authors! ;^) I pretty much liked Snape with just about anyone, until I read Oubliette (http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=11680&chapter=1&font=&size=) by Raewhit (Joanwilder) and Dumbledore's folly (http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=8151&chapter=1&font=&size=) by Dementordelta.
I actually haven't read any Snarry-fics at all, it's just... I luuurve Drarry *g* And I love Snupin or Snape/Sirius... ^^ But I will definitely read those as soon as I've finished the one I'm currently reading :) Thanks!
Oh geez, this makes me want to write Jane Eyre!Snarry. Snape looks so Mr. Rochester-y, and has that 'I'll kill anyone who wakes him look.' Or...WAIT, he's saying, "Take another step and I will kill him!". Nah, he's protecting him, but whom is he directing that ebil eye at? As always, you do such great haaar, and I love how you got the depth of Snape's expression without even painting his mouth.
Ha! I think Snape could go either way (pun intended) with whom he might kill, but Harry looks a tad too relaxed to be held captive. (not that I'd blame him!)
and BAD WRITER! BAD BAD WRITER! Don't even joke about writing anything until the games, Caveman, AND MY SPANKING FIC are done! (mmmmthere was another one that you were doing, but I forget. Are you on the H/D teams too?)
I'm doing the hds_Beltane fest, and Wankfest, and them I'm finishing the caveman. Hey, did you see amand_r's Champion interview? I think she issued you an art challenge....
Oh wow, this is gorgeous! Very very nice in small format, incredible in full size. I love how dramatic the shadows look on Snape's face.
Also, I'm in awe that you did this in pencil. It turned out really great! Something that could make it more enjoyable if you want to do another drawing with a lot of dark, would be using black paper and light colour pencils. No more problems with having to colour large areas and trying to avoid the flare when scanning!
Thank you! Yes, I agree, this looks good big and small. That certainly doesn't always happen!
As for black paper, I am having trouble finding one that I like. The only one I've found so far has too much tooth, and I hate it when the tooth shows through in the drawing. I'm a Bristol Smooth girl.
Plus, the coloured pencils don't blend like graphite does. Maybe I'll try white pastels, because at least then I can blend them! Thank you though! <3
Thank you! The drawing is quite large (14x17) so there SHOULD be a fair amount of detail. It is beyond me, when people draw small how they are able to work as well as they do!

This is a wonderfully dark and velvety drawing. I love Snape's possessive look. Nice work! <3
