Let's start with my
I was a (small time) entertainment reporter, but had done some higher profile stuff (like, for Oprah) ?? and my 'bits' had very recognizable theme music, so when people would see me and recognize me, they would 'sing' the theme music, like; Do, do, do, and I became known as the 'do do' girl. (snerk)
Anyhoo, I was covering some big time show, (like the oscars or emmys or something) and my roommate, Carrie from Sex and the City was there too, and she got TOTALLY mad at me for scooping an interview with some big time actor. She wouldn't even talk to me when we got home, so I decided to move out.
Oh, and Oprah was at the emmy's and I talked to her, but she had no idea who I was, even though my interview bits appeared on her show a few times.
Buck Cherry
Quincey (my four, almost five year old) has announced that when he grows up, he is going to be a doctor, and dentist, and drummer AND a rock star. He absolutely LOVES Buckcherry and wants to emulate him. If that dude wasn't so freakin scary, it would almost be funny. Quincey announced the other day, that we should call Buckcherry (yeah, I know it's a band, not the GUY, but to Quince, they are one in the same) and ask him to be in our band. I told him that I didn't know the phone number, but Quincey said, "I do! At least ... I *think* I do. It's like, twelve, nine, five four. I think ... Can you try that number and see if he answers?"
*snicker* He also wants to wear black all the time (four year old emo kid) and since, uh...yeah, I haven't actually bought a lot of black clothes for my little children, today, we are going to go shopping and find him some 'cool' clothes, like Buckcherry. This is the boy who loved My little Pony and Sparkly Rainbows, not two months ago.
He was also very disappointed that we couldn't download all of the songs onto his Mp3, because some of them have bad words in them. "But when I grow up, I can have songs with bad words on my Ipod, right?" *has visions of heavy-metal-rap-punk eiminated from his bedroom*
Wow, Dumb-ass loser customers are really out in great numbers lately. A particular favourite ofmine:
Guy: YOU GUYS SOLD ME SICK FISH AND THEY MADE MY FISH SICK TOO AND NOW THEY'RE ALL DEAD.
Me:I'm really sorry. How many fish did you buy? How many of your fish have died?
Guy:Well, we bought two fish, and they were obviously sick, and now my fish are sick too.
Me: Yeah, sometimes fish get stressed out when transported. You could try this medication, it might help. Also, we will give you store credit for our fish that died.
Guy: I don't want store credit. I want my money back. And I'm not spending a dime on your fish medication.
Me: We don't offer cash back on dead fish. Only credit. You don't have to buy medication from us if you don't want to, I was only trying to help.
Guy: (getting more and more agitated) I WANT MY MONEY BACK! You sold me fish that YOU KNEW were sick, and now my fish are sick too.
Me:How would it benefit ME to sell you sick fish?
Guy: You did it on purpose. They were obviously sick when you sold them to me.
Me: (ignores the fact that if they were obviously sick, that he BOUGHT THEM ANYWAY.)
(is getting sick of his face and attitude, so I raise my voice and give him teh scary eye-contact.)
Dude. Do you see a grassy knoll here? Because there's no conspiricy theory. Take the credit or don't. It is entirely up to you, but I'm not giving you cash back, so deal with it. (sigh)
I learned afterwards, that he had complained, not ten minutes earlier to one of my employees, that he had bought fish from another pet store two weeks prior that had also made his fish sick. Wow, obviously the entire pet industry is out to get him!
I must say, that I am constantly amazed at how people will get all up in arms and LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL to get what they want/save a buck. People constantly say things like: It was never used, when, in fact, there is a dog poopie in that 'never used' kennel.??? So, the easter bunnie is leaving scat now? Honestly, it makes you question the entire human race sometimes.
ON a funnier note: the way people mis-pronounce animals will never cease to entertain me. Obviously, some fish are hard to say, Cichlid (sick-lid) is often pronounced Chicklets *snerk* and lots of people say Rock-willer for the dog Rotweiller. I once had a fellow who's parents bred Irish Settlers. *dies of laughter* I could just picture a bunch of red-headed potato eating immigrants kept captive in their basement.

Date: 2008-04-12 11:38 pm (UTC)I helped out last time my Dad and his wife went on vacation (mostly I just went and fetched the cows in the morning, you know, around 6:30 am or 6:00 am) anyway, I usually lay down on the sofa in the living room for another hour after I was done and when the hour was up, Igor would come running into the room and then he'd pounce on me and make me get up XD He's such a cutie! And nice and BIG :D I don't really like tiny dogs O.o
Anyway, nope didn't do anything I didn't even notice until after I'd looked at the picture on my computer XD He does stuff like that sometimes. I love how he looks, when he lies on his back (his ears look very batlike and he gets that mad look in his eyes XD)
