Me and Quincey and Tortoise picspam

Not just one, but TWO! TWO! Two tortoises for you viewing pleasure!





A few years ago we got this big dude, Moses. He wasn't quite that big, mind you, but he's still not full grown. They are supposed to live for 150 years, and get to be about 150lbs. *wibble* Quincey is sitting like that, btw, because Moses was trying to eat his shoes, and it was making him nervous. *g*



And here is "Little Mo". Yeah. I wanted to name her something cool, and the kids decided that 'cool' was not uh ... 'cool.' *eyeroll* She is the same breed as "Big Mo" but about 10 years younger. I 'think' she's a girl, but I'm not sure. I am sure, however, that Moses is a boy because YOWZA! *scrubs eyes* Let's just say that the female tortoises are not left wanting. I had no idea that reptiles had massive wangs. Thank god they aren't constantly dangling like most mammals.



Wow. One day I will actually comb my hair and put on some make up before I post a photo of myself! Here's me and 'Big mo', just to give you an idea of his size. I am about 7 feet tall and 600lbs, so that gives you an idea of how huge HE is! okay, I'm five feet tall and my weight shall remain unsaid Mo, however, has gotta be pushing 50 pounds.

And finally, here's a close up of Little Mo. She looks at tad vengeful here, but that's just my crappy photography skills. The only thing she is attacking and devouring are the million dandylions scattered all over our lawn. They are both actually quite sweet and gentle.

Hee! I remember, when I read that Scabbers was like, (aw man, I forget how old now...) but i was like...WTF? Do some research woman! Rats only live, like, 2-3 years if you're lucky. Even though she explained it later in the book, the moment was already ruined for me! :D

Aw. ^_^ *pets turtles* (Yes, I know they're tortoises, but I'm being happy and dumb over teh cute aminals.) Can you pet them? They don't want to eat your hand, do they? SO HUGE, too. How're you going to take him to the vet when he gets bigger?

Neither of them have even tried to bite us. (except my toes, when my nails are painted. I think he thinks they're berries or flowers or something.) And believe me, I am cautious about it. He can bite a thick stem of broccoli right in half, no problem. I like my fingers right where they are, thanks!

As for the vet, we already have other large animals (goats, pig, horses) so the vet comes to us. Of course, he's not a reptile vet, so we'll see. *thinks about buying a hoist for the van*

Thanks! Oddly enough, turtles do nothing for me. (too messy and too bitey) These guys live outside all summer and are super friendly. I'm not sure why, but I find them endlessly fascinating.

Your little boy is adorable and the tortoises are cute. We have two African Dwarf Frog things. They're really small, of course. They're names are Hermione and Hagrid, Harry, Hagrid's father, died about four months ago. RIP.

I named my pig Hogrid! :D Plus we have two goats. One is Professor Sprout, and the other is Bella.

We had a Neville cat, but she got hit by a car. :(

We own a pet store and these guys were surrendered to us. Oddly enough, uh .. not everyone has the space and time for giant tortoises. WEll duh!

That's the most important part. & You ARE a natural beauty. ;)

I only put on makeup [bit of eyeshadow] a few - a dozen or so times a year. But when I do, it does take me from 'natural beauty' to 'glamour girl gorgeous'. (If I may be completely immodest for a moment.)
