Dude! Jin Fenhuang had the CUTESTEST laptop and I just HAD to buy me one!

It's an asus eeepc (triple E pc?) and it's teeny tiny. I had the amazing foresight to buy the BIGGEST most EPIC sized laptop originally, because I wanted a big screen, bla bla, but man, that makes it like...100lbs and not very transportable.

This new one FITS IN MY EAR! Okay, not quite, but you get the idea. Here's a pic of it ON my other laptop, and I stuck a quarter on the mouse thingy to give you a sense of scale.

And yeah, that keyboard takes a bit of getting used to ....

DUDE, if I had a wifi router thingy in that so I could get the net anywhere, I'd just stick that baby in my purse and go!!!

And I didn't think my web addiction could get worse, psh!

Yeah, I'm frighteningly addicted already. I hope this doesn't make it much worse.

This is just the bare bones one, but it was only $350 Canadian. The 'big' laptop that I had been looking at was abou $1500.

I have already added it to my Amazon.com wish list. You bastard, lol. I HAVE NO MONEY FOR THESE THINGS!!!!

Yeah, neither do I, but that has never stopped me! This one was only $350. Not too much.

I got one of these earlier in the year. It never fails to attract attention when I use it out of the house. And it's not too expensive either.

However, mine will probably live at school once it starts. BabyGirl [aka Zelda the house elf] saw my new Mac Book and oooooohd and aaaaaaahd enough so I broke down and gave it to her. So OF COURSE, I had to go buy myself a new Mac Air. YAY!!!! 3 lb computer. I haul my laptop everywhere I go and I really wanted the lightest one I could find and it's amazing.

Good luck with the Asus. It's a good little computer. I love mine.

FYI - I don't know if you're 'into' Vera Bradley or not, but I bought the VB book cover for my Asus. It fits perfectly in size and there's even a little outside pocket for the plug/charger. When I bought mine there wasn't any kind of computer case that was small enough for the Asus, but the book cover was.

I considered the Mac Air, but I didn't think it would take much abuse. (plus, it's way more expensive!!)

I have no idea who Vera Bradley is. Is she an athour?

No, she's a designer. She's very popular up here in the NYC area. [I teach in an all-girls school and 'everybody' has one. Either that or a Coach bag. Anyway, here's a link to the cover I bought for my Asus. It's only$25 and comes in four colors. I also like the fact that it has a handle.

It's not upgradable, and doesn't have many bells or whistles, but it's a great little word processor and works great for the web! I can always keep my pron reference pics on one of those usb sticks. :D

Hm. I'm just not a fan of laptops. I need something big enough for me to see without going blind and a keyboard that doesn't have me constantly pressing two keys at once. My spelling is already bad enough as it is without me typing two letters at the same time.

But, hey, whatever works for you, hon. Glad you're back.

Me too! When I use a laptop my fingers double in size and I take hours to type one sentence. Don't start me on mobile phones. :D

It does look cute though.

I actually really like my big laptop, but like I said, it's too big and clunky to carry around anywhere. I'll still use it quite a bit.

As for the little keyboard, uh ... my old laptop is missing the 'a' and 'w', so compared to that, this one is a dream!

My big problem is that the shift button and the control button are sort of switched where I think they should be, so that has taken soom getting used to.

Actually, I don't know if they have them in winnipeg yet. I got mine while visiting my mom in Toronto.

OMG, her laptop is so cute! I have no idea who, but someone took piccies of hers and mine at the Snupin meet-up ... it was like hers was the baby of mine and there was laptop slash (mine and umm ... ali's? ... anyhow, I'd remember the details much better if I hadn't drunk so much at Terminus, but that's not the point). Anyhow, congrats! It's soooo cute!!!

Yeah, I just about crapped when she pulled it out! Shit, our portable DVD player is bigger than that! I told my (techie) husband about it, and he was ...yeah!Let's go look at them!

Thank god, they could sell me an empty box and i wouldn't know the difference!

Ooooh a classmate of mine had one of those. SO TINY. I have clumsy fingers, so a big keyboard is a must for me xD

Yeah, a bigger keyboard would be nice, but you gotta sacrifice something for portability!

It's hard enough using my almost new laptop I have now, that one would be just too small!
But it sure is cute.

I wouldn't want to write out my dissertation on it, but actually, I wrote about 8 pages of fanfic on it the other night, and once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad.

Sooo adorable. I would love to see a picture of that next to the original computers back in the 50s or whatever, where one computer took up one entire room and could only do about as much as a modern day calculator.

It's almost a little scary how far technology has come!!

I blame my hubby the tech guy.

You know what they say about women who have little laptops....they have big [insert body part here]. OMG, it's so cute. Does it actually work, or is it like the Easy Bake Oven?

Aside from them both being lit by a standard lightbulb, they have absolutely nothing in common. ;p

It DOES work well, but I bought the bare bones one. There is an upgradable version that does more stuff, but meh. I don't ever use any of our other computers to their full potential, why pay for more than I'll use?
