I GOT TWO JIMMIES!!
Feb. 28th, 2009 12:04 pmYay!
xenafox send me a wonderful Valentines basket. (except, you know, in a box ..) It had T and F shaped chocolates (which yeah, took me a minute to get ...*snerk*) and TRUFFLES and a cute card, but most of all JIMMY AND CHAZZ!!! She made these herself with clay! I don't know if you can see the details, but they have REAL ribbons holding their gold medals, and also have sparkles and little gems on their outfits. <3 <3 <3

I also managed to come into THREE PEACOCKS!! My neighbour's neighbour's neighbour has been breeding them, but he's getting old and decided to 'cull' the stock a bit. We got two girls and a boy. (two hens and a COCK!!) *snicker*
Procurring these birds was quite an ordeal, I tell you! We had to catch them, then put SOCKS over their heads, so they didn't freak out too much. We put the girls in a dog kennel, but Jimmy's tail is so long that we cut a hole in a pillow case and put that over his body to help contain him (so he didn't struggle and hurt himself) then I held him on my lap in the back seat while Lance drove us home.
Then ... when we were releasing them into the coop, one of the girls freaked out and FLEW AWAY! Even though they are large birds, they are pretty good fliers. :( We searched and searched the neighbour's trees, and eventually managed to find and catch her. No small miracle, let me tell you! Even today, she's looking pretty stressed out, so I hope she'll be okay. I'll give her a couple of more hours, and if she still looks like crap I'll bring her inside.
