My Poor Baby.

Today was fun.

Quincey wanted to take his bike to a local skateboard park, so we packed up the bikes and helmets (and my art stuff), grabbed a couple of slurpees and headed over there.

Not FIVE MINUTES LATER, poor Quince does a face plant on the cement and knocks out his two front teeth!! Like, literally. They were both on the ground a couple of feet from him. I scooped him up (and the teeth) and started spooning the slurpee in his mouth (nice and cold for the swelling and bleeding.) After a few minutes of screaming bloody murder, he recovered enough to get into the car and head home.

Poor Harrison was ripped off, because he's only gotten to bike for a few minutes!

I called my hubby(not in front of the kids) and said "Gee, wouldn't it be great if the TOOTH FAIRY brought home a mouth guard to put under his pillow?"

So, when hubby gets home, what is the first thing out of his mouth? "Hey Quince, I bought you a mouth guard!" *facepalm*

Thanks. Thanks so fucking much. He is normally a very clever man, I'm not sure what accounts for this failboat.

One of my kids faceplanted like that (no teeth knocked out, but totally skinned his whole face) when he was 5. My brother, on the the other hand, broke off both his front teeth when he was like 11 or so. Permanent teeth. Yeah, baby teeth is the better thing here. Heh.

He looks pretty cheerful now that he's done bleeding.

awww! Poor little guy. I lost one front tooth when I was 3, I was a climber, and one thing leads to another, nuff said. But yeah, many years until my adult front tooth came in - I think my last school picture with no tooth was Grade 2, so 7 or 8? :(

yeah, I was a climber too. Didn't injure myself more than a few skinned knees though.

I think he looks adorable without his teeth. He's in grade 2 this coming year, so I guess we won't have 6 years of toothless photos. :D

Ouch!!! Poor Quincy, and yes thank god they were baby teeth, dentists are soooo expensive.

Oh! That makes my mom instincts wail in agony to see his bloody little face! Aww, that poor little guy! Thank goodness you didn't panic (as I know I totally would have) and you had him eat something cold. You're very lucky they were baby teeth, though. I replaced a couple teeth last summer and it had a 3,000 bill attached to it.
Is he proud of the missing teeth now? Like a weird battle scar? My nephew was when he lost his front ones.

He's not proud yet, because his mouth is still pretty sore. He really bruised up his gums pretty good.

awwww, poor dude. Glad that he's okay now (lol, judging by the picture) and yes, baby teeth is very good news. I was wondering as I was reading why you weren't typing 'and then we took him to a dentist/ hospital straight away' or something to that affect until it sunk in that these aren't his permanent teeth yet. Poor guy! My daughter knocked both teeth out simiarly at age six. Came off a slide at a McDonald's playplace to get tripped up by some strange kid at the bottom and hit the deck face first. One tooth out, the next tooth dangling (she yanked it out ten minutes later).

Yay for Slurpees! I think you have convinced me that we should always go to playgrounds/skateparks with Slurpees in hand.

aww poor baby. that happened to me when i was a kid. i tripped when clearing off the dinner table and chipped my tooth on a pot, also my tooth went through my bottom lip. i have a scar. scars are awesome. ergo i am awesome. and your kid will be too!
