Happy Birthday Snarry!

10 years is an awfully long time. I've only been in fandom for just over 5 years, and even less here on livejournal, and it seems like a lifetime! I've been celebrating by reading TONS of fic, re-watching the movies and, of course, picking up a pencil.

I'll have some reccs coming soon (a rarity for me) but for now, take some art.
it is kinda/sorta work safe.





eta: Funny story about this one. Normally I draw in my dining room, near the television and right beside this huge, old mirror I inherited from my parents. When I draw, I will occasionally hold up my art to the mirror to make sure it's okay. When flipped, a lot of flaws will show, and it helps me make it look 'right'. Well, I'm stuck at my sons school lately, and don't have a mirror handy, so when I finished this piece, I took a photo of it and stuck it in photoshop, tweaked it a bit and left it. But then thought .. oh, I should flip it and check it out. Well, it looked WAY BETTER flipped, and left it that way. Except my signature was backwards. So I flipped the signature too. AND I'M SUCH A WHIZ IN PHOTOSHOP YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL. ;p It's also on the wrong side of the pic, but i'm sure if I don't say anything, you won't notice, amirte?

Wow, I love this one. Harry's pensive expression (although when I tilt my head sideways he actually looks a little sulky), the shading, especially on Harry's arm, the way Snape's face is hidden against the back of Harry's neck, their HANDS (guh, I have a hand fetish) - all so peaceful and sensual. Nice work on their hair, too. Just a lovely pic all around.

What a beautiful piece - all that shading! I love the way Severus has his face buried in Harry's neck and his arm wrapped tightly around Harry. And Harry still has his glasses on. but Harry... why the pensive sad face? It's all so expressive and lovely!

funny thing that, about flipping an image. sometimes when I do multiple renderings on tracing, I see it backwards. sometimes it's better, sometimes it's so wrong!

I love the way Harry's & Severus' thumbs line up with Severus' index finger to form a triangle pointing to Harry's the weight of the world is on me pout. Good to know Severus has Harry's back! Harry's glasses look especially good in this one. ❤
