But for now, here's this:

My loom now only has room for around 23 beads per row. (hence this being split into two pieces.) The new one will be able to have

For Bernard, I took a picture of my art of him and then put a 'mosaic'? filter on it in photoshop, to make it little squares so I could pick the colours more easily. But the beads weren't very uniform and some were clear and some were opaque, and it kind of ruined the way it looks. I mean, I'm happy with it, but I could immediately tell that there were improvements to make.
With this Megz one, I actually broke down and bought a program that makes cross stitch patterns. made things MUCH easier.
then I went out and bought as many blue/teal/purple beads as I could find. the prep time (because the program needs a lot of tweaking to get the shadows and such just right) was probably just over an hour (I"m new to the program, and I'm a bit slow), then it probably took another hour to organize my beads, figuring out from lightest to darkest, and which colours should go where, and for this one, probably three or four hours of actual beading? I dunno. I rarely time myself.
