I've seen more movies than usual lately, so here's my thoughts on them, in 20(ish) words or less. Some movies are rentals, so they're older ....

Pirates of the Carribean, ... the last one, I don't remember the subtitle...
I didn't love it, but I liked it quite a bit. Too complicated/too many characters at times, but now I"m totally shipping Cleric/Mermaid!!

Green Lantern
WTF? For those of us who are not comic book geeks, the first 15 minutes was stupid, melodramatic and useless. The actual action scenes were okay, and I found I ended up liking the character more than I though I would, but the whole thing was really uninspired.

Date Night
How much do I love Steve and Tina together???? What a great couple. Really cute, funny movie that took a turn into stupid/over the top, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Horrible Bosses
Really great cast. Kevin Spacey? I"m in! See above, with the over-the-topness, but still a pretty funny movie.

Paul
I love these two guys, so I'm not sure why I didn't think I'd like this one, but I did!(probably because I hate Seth Rogan) More violent than I expected, but I'm not sure why, because ALL their movies surprise me with the violence. AND SO. DAMN. SLASHY!

Captain America
Wow. I thought this would be along the lines of the Green Lantern, but it had WAY more heart. The main character was VERY sympathetic. Still had that comic book melodrama, but the best movie of it's genre that I've seen for a while.

Crazy, Stupid Love
Probably my favourite movie I've seen this year. The people act in ways that aren't terribly logical at times, but they sell it well, and I really liked a lot of the characters. One word: ABS!

Dophin Tale
Oh man. I cried at the TRAILER of this movie, but the film itself didn't really deliver. It was too long and needed editing. Harry Connick Jr? YUM! nom nom nom (I did tear up at the end with the 'real' footage clips though ..

Real Steel
Wow! Now here is a movie that I wasn't looking forward to seeing, but ended up really enjoying it! (and I"m not a huge Hugh Jackman fan) I was surprised that I was really rooting for the underdog robot to win.

Jack and Jill
Oh Jesus, this was bad! Even my kids left the theatre shaking their heads. How does a film this crappy get made in today's market? There are certain expectations that film audiences require (yanno, beginning, middle, end, character development??) and this movie fell so short on every front.

Okay, I"m done!

TL;DR Crazy, Stupid Love = YES!
Jack and Jill = NO!

One of my high school friends worked on the screenplay for Horrible Bosses. Not a very close friend...I admit I haven't seen it yet! I friended him on FB though, and watched his growing excitement with the cast as they were hired. Glad the movie came out well, for his sake!

Oh yes, I'm sure it would be a thrill to get some big name stars for something that you helped write.

It's a pretty silly movie, but I don't get out much, and it certainly entertained me!
