Okay, in the past couple of weeks, I've read quite a few stories (mostly Avengers) that have one of the boys squirting, spurting or shooting pre-come.

Now, I don't have a dick (sadly) but I do have one at my disposal, and I have yet to see any sort of pre-ejaculatory liquids do anything other than ... leak? Ooze? WEEP!!!! Nothing with any sort of propulsion and force, anyway.

Have I not been paying attention? Or have I just been sleeping with the wrong guys these past 30 years?

You're correct, IME; a 'leak' is about as dramatic as it gets. It always astonishes me how many people seem to be prepared to write about sex without ever having experienced it.
