Okay, we're getting to the end here! Can you tell I am SOOO avoiding doing his hair? urhgg..
I did the beard/scrub. I'll have to see how I like it in the morning.
I have to fix/finish his left (my right) shoulder, and perhaps make his chin a tad rounder, plus darken the shadows on/around his eyes. I'll also go over all the dark areas with a 6b pencil. so far, aside from the original light sketch, that I did with ....an H? I dunno, whatever's light and lying around, the rest is done with a woodless 4b. I find, when the numbers get too high, like 9b, they get too waxy.

But first ... the hair. *shudders* I hate mid-tone semi-curly hair! whaaaaah!

Oh, and that blue line on his hand? That's where my original line art had his chin! bwahaha that would have been a disaster.

Yes, noses are my least favorite part of anything. lol I think I'm just plain scared of them, and am afraid of making marks around that area so they end up being underdeveloped and weird-looking. Even in figure drawing class, I'd crop things so I could avoid some part of the face that involved the nose. My teacher called me on that a few times.

I don't draw much anymore (and when I do, it's not very realistic), so I haven't practiced faces for a while either. The stuff I do now is more cartoony and I leave as much of the nose out of it as possible. You should do a nose tutorial sometime!
