Okay, we're getting to the end here! Can you tell I am SOOO avoiding doing his hair? urhgg..
I did the beard/scrub. I'll have to see how I like it in the morning.
I have to fix/finish his left (my right) shoulder, and perhaps make his chin a tad rounder, plus darken the shadows on/around his eyes. I'll also go over all the dark areas with a 6b pencil. so far, aside from the original light sketch, that I did with ....an H? I dunno, whatever's light and lying around, the rest is done with a woodless 4b. I find, when the numbers get too high, like 9b, they get too waxy.

But first ... the hair. *shudders* I hate mid-tone semi-curly hair! whaaaaah!

Oh, and that blue line on his hand? That's where my original line art had his chin! bwahaha that would have been a disaster.

You got it , and Mandie said to tell you that this is really doing it for her. This was so interesting (and jealousy provoking), watching this evolve. Is there anything you can't do? And from what you said, you've not been watching the series long, but the hand gesture is so Housian. I really love it, tripp, I just may have to print it off so I can visually self-stimulate admire it while I'm on the router.

Aww, thanks hon! And just so you know, I CANNOT play the guitar. Not even a bit! And not from lack of trying. My short, fat little hooves hands can hold a pencil okay, but they cannot form chords.

My body is ... not fat, but you know, two kids-not skinny, but my hands have always been plump. At least they're good for one thing. (well, more than one thing, really, but that's a whole 'nuther' post!)

As for the hand gesture...I must admit, that it's pretty much exactly a copy of my reference pic. I'll post the ref pic when I post the final drawing. Hopefully tomorrow night, but I dunno. I have to work tomorrow, and I have some ebil bills that need me to go through them and throw them awayorganize them and pay them! *le sigh*

Damn it, why can't I just be sick for a few days? I feel like I've missed so much. Look at the awesome WIP tutorial you're doing of -- EEEE -- House! It looks sooooooooo good! You've totally captured him and it's not even all the way finished yet (actually, it's clear even from the early stages that you nailed it, after adjuting for chin length, et. al.). We loves.

*big sloppy kisses*

Thanks! The WIP has been fun, but oddly...stressful. I'm sort of afraid of screwing it up, now that it's public.

So sorry to hear you were sick! Just the run of the mill flu? Or something yuckier?

*hugs you then sprays self with antiseptic*

I can definitely see why something like this would be stressful. I'd be scared to screw things up too, but you've nothing to worry about. It's coming out really, very good. The scruff is great.

Nothing so dread as the flu, thankfully. Just a head cold, which then moved to my chest, and then turned into a sinus infection. There was the most marvelous shade of sickly neon green gunk in my tissue everytime I blew my nose. Quite disgusting, and I am sorry to mention it, but I still can't get over it. Never seen anything like that before (and I hope I never will again).

I probably would have recovered faster if I hadn't had to work. I never get sick and the one time I do, it's during the week we're not allowed to call out. Damn it!

This just keeps getting better and better! The concrit you've been getting has really helped. (Not that I've offered any, lol.)

I think you'll do a great job on the hair. You've already mastered my weakest point: the Nose! I have never been able to do a great nose. But you've managed to capture his so well. The beard looks awesome, too!

Thanks again for posting this as a WiP. It's been illuminating watching it progress.

Noses? Really? I LURVE drawing noses! to me, they totally make the face. Eyes are important, obviously, but really, they're all pretty much the same. (in black and white, anyway) but everyone's nose is sooo different! Plus, they make the coolest shadows. (why do you think I like drawing Snape so much?????)

:D

Yes, noses are my least favorite part of anything. lol I think I'm just plain scared of them, and am afraid of making marks around that area so they end up being underdeveloped and weird-looking. Even in figure drawing class, I'd crop things so I could avoid some part of the face that involved the nose. My teacher called me on that a few times.

I don't draw much anymore (and when I do, it's not very realistic), so I haven't practiced faces for a while either. The stuff I do now is more cartoony and I leave as much of the nose out of it as possible. You should do a nose tutorial sometime!
