House Art FINISHED! Yay!
Okay, finally, the finished pic! I have to take another photo of it, the lighting is sort of crap today. This is one of those pics that looks much better in person. Sometimes, for whatever reason, they look much better on the computer, but not this time. I also included the reference photo that I used. It's much darker than my drawing, but doing lots of darks is not fun, and I'm lazy! :D
I had trouble making his hair look like the photo. It sort of turned out ... nicer and softer looking. Oh well, better than worse and more wiry! Today, I'm going out and buying some House on DVD. I"ve only seen about 4 episodes so far.

ETA:
If you'd like to see the WIP's,and listen to me blather on about them, I put them here:
WIP1
WIP2
WIP3,4
WIP5,6
WIP7

I'm glad you like the way it turned out.

I mean, I know we've seen this thing come to life, but now it's done and... just amazing. It's so awesome! I really love the chin scruff and the eyes are just completely stunning. So gorgeous. I want to say more but I'm really just staring at it like GAH. Haha.
Yay, House party! XD

sit ondraw! They eyes, the scruff. the head wrinkles! I still need to work on my textures. I tend to draw everything too smooth. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, but I don't really know how to do it any other way!no subject
It's beautiful! The hair, the scruff, the eyes... all gorgeously done. And that hand is a work of art in itself. It's been really interesting to hear you talk about your process and see it from start to finish. I hope you do another one of these sometime (though not too soon, because I know it was stressful).
Oh, you won't regret buying House on DVD. It was the best thing I ever did. I saw the first season via Netflix, but was too impatient to watch the second season that way, so off to Best Buy I went and then watched the entire thing in one weekend. Good things come to those who don't wait, too. :D

I'm glad you liked the WIP diatribe. I really enjoy seeing it when other people do it, and even though it's not a tutorial per se, I know I learn tons just from seeing how other people accomplish things.
Someone (Florence crey??) asked for a nose tutorial, so I might attempt one. It would be fun! :D
Okay, it's 6:00pm...is that too early to put the kids to bed so I can watch my House DVD?? :D

I almost regret posting it right beside the photo, because not I'm noticing everything that's wrong with it! grrr I've never really posted side by side before...and now I know why! ;)

House art
I truly am in awe of your abilities! *came for the snarry, stayed for the photorealism*
I'm going to friend you now. Feel free to add back or not, as your time and interest dictate. ;D

Excellent job.

I guess it turned out that way because that's the way I see him. Well, not the hair, but I just couldn't figure out how to draw it the way it was.
I must also see people with big heads and small bodies, because I tend to ALWAYS draw people that way. *scratches own big head*

And even when these things are pointed out to me, I stare, and say, uh...okay, yeah, I GUESS his hand is thinner! I suppose I'm drawing things how I *percieve* them to be. Funny eh? I mean, I know it's not exactly like the photograph, but my brain is having trouble seeing the differences.

Enjoy the House ;D

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the hair...I'm actually having an art lesson next week (with a local artist who's quite amazing) so I'll ask him how the heck you're supposed to draw hair like that.
