tripperfunsterIf you read my journal (and if you're reading this, then you DO,) you know that I'm pretty much a black and white girl. Other than the odd cartoon, I mostly work with graphite. I have a phobia of colour, and although I love it in other peoples work, I hate it in my own.

Now, mine isn't nearly as nice as hers, but I'm just thrilled to pieces with it. *huggles it*. I used THE shittiest crayons known to man (the ones in those $20 art kits that you buy for kids, that have like, 3000 pens, pencils, crayons, watercolour pads and markers) so the quality wasn't the best, but I feel like something clicked in my brain, and I may just have to go out and purchase some COLOURFUL utensils tomorrow! *SQUEE*
He's a bit more yellow than I intended (especially since I didn't use yellow at all.)

Date: 2007-04-04 02:30 am (UTC)today I bought some chalk pastels, and also some nicer crayons that kittehkat recommended. The whole point of the excercise is to do something fairly quickly, and crayons cover a large space with minimal work. it's actually quite freeing to do something fast, and still have something to show at the end.
Graphite can be so detailed and fiddly sometimes, that it gets a bit tedious. I think crayons will be a welcome distraction, and hopefully teach me lots about colour in the meantime!
