Wow, okay. I thought I would open up a page that had a drawing OF a crayon, decked out to resemble Snape. You know, sort of crack-pic. This? Is absolutely gorgeous. You're ten kinds of awesome!
Ohhh, another nice one! God, you're knocking these out so quickly! I'm shocked! I knew you'd do this one, as I think it's the experimental Snape cap since it's so textured and has so many shadows, but wow! Wonderful job! I'm personally more partial to your gorgeous Hughs, but AR himself is an amazingly attractive man, as well, so I can't complain too much. ;)
Thank you! Yes, the same crayons that you buy for your kids. The big trick is to not layer them too much, because it just gets gummy and refuses to work. 2 or 3 colours to a layer max.
I'm amazed at how nice this turned out. I'm not usually a fan of crayons. I curious about the cost. $2.00 a box doesn't sound like it would be any more expensive than paint or colored pencils. Or am I talking out my ass again?
As far as art supplies go, $2 is mondo cheap! My water colour pencils are $2 EACH, and I have .... 40? A simple paint brush can run anywhere from $4 to $80. Needless to say, I only own the $4 ones!
Hell, the paper that I use (Bristol, vellum, for these) is almost a buck a sheet.
doing art properly can cost a ton of cash. Thank god I don't do it properly!
Thanks! I never would have guessed that crayons could do this (and so freakin' easily!) until I saw a tutorial on elicia8s journal. SHE is worship-worthy! If you like the show House MD, you must check out her journal!
Thanks! I just finished a Dumbledore that I'll post soon. I am painfully addicted now! (who needs to do real things, like pay the bills, clean the house and take care of their children anyway) :D
Oh, that's great! And with crayons! Very cool! :D I love all the layers of color in the skin tones. lol - He looks like he just caught Harry and Ron sneaking out of the Potion supply closet. *grin* Awesome work. ^.^
Thanks! He's sort of angry/surprised. I'm not sure at what, as I just found this pic on the internet. Of course, he pretty much ALWAYS has this expression, doesn't he? :D
kittehkat recommended that I use 'Prang' brand crayons. She says they are less gummy than regular ones, so I did. I never actually got around to using my Crayolas, so I can't compare. I did go out and buy THREE more boxes of Prang today though! ;)
wow! This .... ... Severus seeems to be looking straight at me, frowning. How did you draw him looking at you so intensely. Just looking at this pic makes me ... well *squirm*

And these pics are taking about an hour to do, hence the large output. it's nice to not take 10 hours to draw something!

(can't believe you did these with crayons! my crayolas, and cheap waxy-melt-in-the-suns should probably be dragged out again and experimented with.)

as for HOW I did it? I wish I could tell you. I just try to draw what I see. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. :D
I guess it did this time! Thanks for the lovely comments, I reall appreciate them!
