Cut from a peacock tail feather, and the wings are from the decorative fronds of the tail, plus a few neck feathers too.

Date: 2014-09-27 04:39 am (UTC)There is no shading on Cas, it's just a straight silhouette, but the the … reflectiveness of the feather is what (I think) you're seeing.
Getting him dark enough and the feathers bright enough to show the colours was pretty much impossible. If it was too light, you couldn't see him properly, and too dark just masked those gorgeous reflective shades! I must have taken 40 pictures in 10 different places, but none of them got the actual effect I was looking for. Sad that my photography skills are holding back my art!!
