Spoilers, I guess. But really, if you haven't seen the movie yet, you are EVEN LAMER THAN ME!
Over-all, I suppose I liked it. I mean, I have two young children, and I'm so starved for entertainment, I would probably have enjoyed just about anything shiny, but as much as it had some great moments, I wouldn't say I loved it.
I'm not sure if the main problem lies with the director, the editor or the actors (or all three) but the first half of the movie was choppy. the dialogue didn't really gel, the lines were stiff, badly delivered, and the mood was...odd. And not in a good way.
It picked up eventually, and the second half was quite enjoyable, and seemed much smoother. I didn't like the things that they changed (and I won't go and repeat what they all are, 'cause it's been done to death,) but I agree with the bitching and rants that I've seen around.
Snape? Holy fucking hell! I swear to god, the first line that he uttered, I just about wet my seat right there. that man is a walking, TALKING aphrodesiac! *flails*
And I don't really ship Harry/Sirius, but they were sooo slashy in the entire flick, it was hard to ignore. Black was having eyesects with Harry constantly! It was almost embrassasing.
Lupin? WTF? Is he an alcoholic or something? His face looked totally bloated, like people who's kidneys have shut down. ADEMA FACE! yech.
I don't like Micheal Gambon (Dumbles) but he was really pretty cool in this one. Still not my 'mental' DD, but pretty good all the same.
harrys haircut sucked. His face looked oddly flat, like his neck was too thick. I miss the messy long hair that everyone had in the last pic. They all looked so cute.
Ron was really good too. I've found him to be a major over-actor, but he was more subtle and funnier (and had less lines) in this one, so bravo! ron!
My biggest beef of all, however, is the STOOPID FUCKING HILLYBILLY that was sitting beside me, talking through the whole thing, and HEEHAWING at the funny parts. I seriously would have thwacked him upside the head, but he was so obnoxious, it was almost funny. He seemed to find the need to explain everything to the woman that he was with. Perhaps she just crawled out from under a rock and didn't know the HP background, but really people, if you're too stoopid to read, they have the BOOKS ON TAPE!
And granted, this would have been a rubick's cube to figure out if you hadn't read OOTP a few times before seeing it, but if you need to flap your lips throughout a film, RENT IT!
My husband was in the washroom after the movie, and told me that this same guy was in there too, and actually had a running commentary with himself about washing his hands and the colour of the soap in the dispenser. *bionic eyeroll*
Okay, /rant.

Date: 2007-07-19 01:36 pm (UTC)But he was mentally comparing Harry to James throughout that book, wasn't he? Like with the family tree and at the end? He thinks of Harry as James when he was younger.
...of course, I'm a huge James/Sirus fan, so I'm biased, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. :P

Date: 2007-07-19 02:09 pm (UTC)And, damn, why does Rickman have to look so old? It should be illegal to have such a sexy voice and moves but then be OLD.
Not that I wouldn't fuck him.no subject
Date: 2007-07-19 03:07 pm (UTC)My point being:
I WOULD FUCK SNAPE EVEN IF HE LOOKED AND SMELLED LIKE JABBA THE HUT, just to have him whisper things like; "Fuck me harder," or "Your breasts are divine," or even; "Ow, you're on my hair."*sigh*
And you really didn't see the Harry/sirius slash? I'm appalled! Were you necking with Al or something? :D

Date: 2007-07-19 03:21 pm (UTC)Nope. I see slash *EVERYWHERE* and I didn't see it there. I can believe Harry could have a bit of a crush on Sirius since he is obviously omgsocool, but Harry is James's son and NOBODY means more to Sirius than James (alas, even Remus). People talk about Snape's unrequited love, but I think Sirius had it just as bad for James. Poor Harry, everyone wants to fuck him cause he's the next best thing to one of his parents. *bleaches brain*

Date: 2007-07-19 10:16 pm (UTC)Lupin looks that bad? From the short clips I've seen of him in the commerical, I thought he actually looked better than in PoA . . . but they were quick clips . . . Hmm. :^\

Date: 2007-07-20 02:36 am (UTC)so is Draco, although, Lucuis is in it quite a bit (compared to the others) and he's pretty sexy too, and I'm not a Lucius shipper at all!

Date: 2007-07-23 09:12 pm (UTC)I'm so glad you got the SNeville pic! They are my fav rare pair too! In fact, my very first fannish thing I ever did was write a Sneville. :D
Can I ask what you paid for the pic? I"ve never sold artwork before. (well, I once donated a piece to an art auction, but the drawing was not an obvious HP pic, so a completely innocent woman purchased a Snarry kiss, not realizing that it was slash!) teehee! I know the auction was for charity, but I'm just curious what people pay for fanart.
If it's in any sort of frame at all, you'll have to thank Lizardspots. I just sent them in a cardboard portfolio and she put some sort of backing on them.
Again, squee! I"m so glad that Sneville found a good home! :D :D

Date: 2007-07-24 04:42 pm (UTC)As for the price. I paid £11 in the auction. It was in the gallery for £25, but I left it in the morning. In the afternoon I went back to get it, but it had already been removed for entry into the auction. I was willing to go up to the gallery price, but I think I was lucky that it was a rare pair.
I am so glad I got it because I adore your art. And for it to be this pairing is just lovely :) I hope you don't mind, but I might try to scan it and post it to show others? though not sure if my scanner is big enough. let me know if you would rather I didn't

I'm thrilled Sneville has found a good home! I sent four or five other pics there, I hope they found some love too! It was hard to chose, because the people aren't allowed to look like the actors (copyright bs) and the pics had to be pg or under. Really limits my stuff!
Cheers,
Tripp
