Okay, I FAIL at pumkin carving 101. Actually, I fail at patience 101. I was so excited to carve out my pumpkin, that I accidentally CUT OFF THE BOTTOM of it, instead of the top. I was like; "Oh, my pumpkin has no stem!" and then, of course, I turned it over, and realized that I was an imbecile. so I cut the top off too, AND PROMPTY THREW THE TOP AWAY WITH THE PUMPKIN GUTS!

*facepalm*

so, my pumpkin iz upside down. Then, I failed to print out a properly sized pattern for it, so I free-handed the sketch with a dry erase marker, and DREW IT WAAAY TO BIG, like I always do. And, of course, I failed to purchase any proper pumkin carving tools, so I began it with a MELON BALLER (not a good idea), then, finally, just a steak knife.

Despite my lewserness, it actually turned out okay. Oh, and I have only a teeeny candle, so I couldn't even light it properly. *failz*

I'll have to try again tomorrow.

Oh, and I went to sew my costume tonight (Princess Leia, in case you care) and I DON'T HAVE ANY SEWING MACHINE NEEDLES. My only saving grace, is that Halloween is still three days away, so I *might* actually manage to finish it in time.

I'm making a ghost costume for Harry and Quincey wants to be either a pirate or a skeleton. he'd like me to make both, and then he will decide which one he wants to wear. I told him sure! Twenty bucks an hour, and I'll make ten or eleven! :D

I will, of course, post pics when the time comes!

skdjfhaskjdhfksdh what the hell, dude?! That totally looks like SNAPE! ZOMG. It's kind of creepy in an altogether enjoyable way. If I saw that for real, I'd be falling over myself. As I'm 3000 miles away, I'll just stare in intese admiration.

YOWZA!!

Steak knives are a bitch to use for pumpkin-carving. I can't imagine doing anything with a melon baller except maybe crying. That said, dude. Your pumpkin is completely cool.

Yes, melon ballers are for melons. END OF STORY.

I bought another pumpkin today, and I'll look around for one of those little pumpkin carving kits. Hopefully the proper tools will make all the difference!

You totaly WIN!!! Even with everything you've got a kickass Snape pumpkin. I love you because sometimes I think I'm the only one with a life like this.

My "life like this" is ALL MY OWN DOING! I wish I could blame it all on bad luck, but it boils down to bad planning. *sigh*

Oh well, with this, as with the rest of my life, I generally manage to bumble through and have things turn out okay anyway!

*hugs you back*

A melon-baller and a steak knife? God, why didn't you just use your teeth? It really turned out well, though. pumpkin!Snape, and with a sneer even! What kinda candy you giving out?

Whoops! How did I miss replying to this??

My teeth? Nah, I'm not fond of the taste of pumpkin...

We're not giving out candy. We live in the country and have no neighbours. Lance takes the kids to his mom's in the city, and they hand out candy and go trick or treating there.

did you get many kids this year? And what did VK dress up as???

Yeah, you tantrum, but OMG I CAN TELL IMMEDIATELY WHO IT IS, so you clearly knew what you were doing. ;)

Always trust the drawing hand. It knows. It's like... Thing. Lol.

I tantrum? Ho yeah! I can hissy-fit with the best of them! ;^)

yes, trust in the drawing/carving hand.

I bought a new pumpkin today, and I'll try to track down some better tools. Part of me wants to re-try Snape. Another part of me wants to try a House'o'lantern!!

How is the season shaping up with your Halloween frenetic family? *wishes I was your sister* What are you dressing up as??

Oh, very nice. I made one like the one in my icon. Oddly enough there were a lot fewer trick-or-treaters than last year. I can't imagine why.
