Oct. 28th, 2007 11:37 pmOkay, I FAIL at pumkin carving 101. Actually, I fail at patience 101. I was so excited to carve out my pumpkin, that I accidentally CUT OFF THE BOTTOM of it, instead of the top. I was like; "Oh, my pumpkin has no stem!" and then, of course, I turned it over, and realized that I was an imbecile. so I cut the top off too, AND PROMPTY THREW THE TOP AWAY WITH THE PUMPKIN GUTS!
*facepalm*
so, my pumpkin iz upside down. Then, I failed to print out a properly sized pattern for it, so I free-handed the sketch with a dry erase marker, and DREW IT WAAAY TO BIG, like I always do. And, of course, I failed to purchase any proper pumkin carving tools, so I began it with a MELON BALLER (not a good idea), then, finally, just a steak knife.
Despite my lewserness, it actually turned out okay. Oh, and I have only a teeeny candle, so I couldn't even light it properly. *failz*

I'll have to try again tomorrow.
Oh, and I went to sew my costume tonight (Princess Leia, in case you care) and I DON'T HAVE ANY SEWING MACHINE NEEDLES. My only saving grace, is that Halloween is still three days away, so I *might* actually manage to finish it in time.
I'm making a ghost costume for Harry and Quincey wants to be either a pirate or a skeleton. he'd like me to make both, and then he will decide which one he wants to wear. I told him sure! Twenty bucks an hour, and I'll make ten or eleven! :D
I will, of course, post pics when the time comes!

Date: 2007-10-29 05:04 pm (UTC)I bought another pumpkin today, and I'll look around for one of those little pumpkin carving kits. Hopefully the proper tools will make all the difference!
