My work out regimen

Run for a mile and a half on the treadmill.

Eat chocolate ice cream (for lunch) and sit infront of the computer.

I'm not sure why the weight isn't coming off. Perhaps I should get my thyroid checked.

As an aside...do shin splints go away on their own, or do I have to stop running for an extended period of time?

Your workouts sound vaguely like mine. I ride my exercise bike a few minutes, then go pop open a Coke and watch T.V. *giggle*

Our workouts are NOTHING alike. I much prefer Pepsi.

I think you need more ice cream. and pie, for breakfast!

for shin splints, do you stretch enough?

[identity profile] tripperfunster.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Pie? Would cake be a suitable substitute?

And stretching is for pussies.

No, I probably don't stretch nearly enough. It's my shin BONE that hurts though. How do you stretch a bone? (no, not THAT kind of bone!!)

Hahahaha. Not that kind of bone ;) I like you tripp.

I'd think your pussy was stretched enough, but you didn't ask.

Just keep running on it. If the pain doesn't get better in a week, you need to rest it.

Mine eventually went away... and I cnotinued to run...

I think for shin splints you need to keep from running for a while. I'm not sure how long though.

Lol. You're still doing better than me...my exercise involves one short walk to the post office and then the rest is going between the couch and the computer chair...

I'm sure it would work much better if you gave the chocolate ice cream to me instead of eating it yourself .... ;)

In my frequent experience of shin splints, if I jog at a higher speed and/or less frequently, I don't get them as bad. If I do a slow jog, I get them almost immediately (which is why I pretty much can't slow-jog). I have no idea how to make them go away, but I haven't found that stretching helps any.
